Buy an MG5 and swap the badges early in the morning while everyone's asleep.

A Hybrid is a safer bet at the moment and I can see the appeal just as my neighbour did after getting rif of his few months old ID4.

Why did he get rid Daryl? I know a few folk with the Id models and the big Kia and Hyundai evs, which look stunning to my eyes, and they love then, can't believe they took so long to take the plunge.

It's 2023 and someone still thinks hydrogen is the future?

Precisely why my neighbour got rid of his ID4 after such a short time.
He loved many of the aspects of the car but it's ( and most other EV's ) shortcomings when having to do a long journey proved too much of an issue to make him keep it.
Loves his VW Hybrid now.
He is certainly not alone in stating the bleeding obvious that the infrastructure is woeful and the cost savings even excluding purchase price is diminishing constantly.
Electricity is more expensive and VED being applied.
If you have a 30 to 40 mile commute every day and no long journeys then the appea of electric l is readily apparent.

She didn't even have the REX version which would have been better for the odd longer journey. An i3 would suit my average driving week down to the ground, but if I had a journey like Essex to Blackpool I'd be borrowing or going straight down to Enterprise for a rental.

It's also amazing how many people buy an electric car, sit at 80 on the motorway and then complain about range being poor.

Effectively we are acknowledging that the UK government has failed to introduce enough charging points to keep pace with the increased number of EV cars sold.
