Zavoli Alesei/Zeta - anyone had any experience?

I've got one of these systems fitted to my T5 (phase 2) V70. It was on the car when I bought it.

It has never run properly. The regulator recently went and I took it to HKL-Gaspower in Birmingham, who sorted that problem out, but it's still not running right.

At idle the engine is rougher and noisier than when it runs on petrol. The acceleration is not nearly as good as it is on petrol and there's more exhaust noise.

I've been thinking about getting the Zavoli software & connection lead together with an OBD2 reader from Ebay and having a go at changing the settings myself. Apparently you can fine-tune this kit using the software - including getting it to flip to petrol at higher revs.

Has anyone had any experience tuning their lpg system they can share? Alternatively, details of a really conscientious lpg mechanic in the Birmingham area (with lpg tuning specialism).

The new regulator I had fitted last Monday has gone the way of the other one now. Back to a loud roaring / whining noise on acceleration.

There is clearly an underlying problem which needs sorting. Oh well, back to HKL again. I'm running out of half days annual leave.

If you haven't done so already, treat the car to a basic ignition tune up - new plugs, leads, dissy cap and rotor (if applicable). Gas is more demanding upon the ignition system, and if it's not in tip-top order it could certainly give you poor performance when running on gas.

The clue is running rougher and noisier on gas. This sounds like a misfire on one cylinder.

Set the gaps on the plugs 1mm smaller than the factory setting, and don't use mutli-point electrodes - go for Bosch super plus single point plugs. LPG doesn't like fancy plugs or tired leads etc!

Do you get a smell of gas in the car when it's not running right? If so could be a faulty LPG regulator or pressure relief valve, or just a connection not quite properly made.

The other simple checks would be on the electrical connections to the inlet solenoids. When idling on gas are all five solenoids making a regular ticking noise? One quiet one suggests it ain't working.

They are based is leicester though, if u r willing to travel.

LPG Tuning. is it direct injetion, ?
Really ther is no suh thing as lpg tuning, u may have a bad spark plug, dont start spending money on diy tunning things get it to a lpg place
