I've been offered a pass to the grand prix at Silverstone

A three day pass to the Fusion room is only £3,355 plus VAT per person. I'm trying to decide if that is cheap. I guess it is if you are going for the social. I can buy 3 740s for less than that.though :)

What an absolute bargin! Bring the missus and arrive in style https://www.silverstone.co.uk/visit-...ere/helicopter

Spent an afternoon, back in March '98, watching from Stowe Corner and still have the effects of frostbite to my extremities :speechless-smiley-5

The best part was the drive down and back in my colleagues M5 (E28) from Telford...we only filled up twice :D

One longs for the "good old days" when one could turn up at the gate into Brands Hatch, give the nice man a few quid and enjoy a day's motor racing.
Even better were the days when one would pop into my mate's uncle's café on the A20 and pick up some free tickets.

There's still some good stuff at Silverstone for very little money such as the 750-motor-club meeting n May, £17 for the day, under 15s free and some actual racing compared to the F1 processions.

To be honest I've been a few times and always left feeling slightly flat. You can't see much of the race, the superstars make fleeting appearances, the food tends to be rubber chicken and access and parking is a nightmare. Unless it's something you absolutely have to do then I suggest a sky subscription is actually a better deal.

Yes I entirely agree I was up there 20 year ago in a grandstand , It was a bitter wind and you could only see 2 corners so lost track of what was going on. So far to walk to the next part too.

Castle combe is probably the best circuit in the country for vision and feeling comfortable and such fast exciting racing from all classes. 75% of the circuit viewable from just about anywhere around the edge. Volvo owners used to have a volvo day there once a year.
