Ticket Clip against Windshield
No idea of the correct name for this important piece of the car, but my V70 is the first one for me that had it broken!
Unable to live without it I have removed the one from my V90 and will correct this major issue with my current car. Thing is, I can't work out how to get the plastic trim away from the body that is adjacent to the screen. I am guessing there are some of the usual type of clips, but don't really want to go too mad and break anything. Any tips at all? |

Is that what that is!! I've got one in my V40. I thought it was either from a new windscreen at some point or, well anything else really.

??
Claas Ohlsen do them instore for £1.50 if I remember correctly. They are self adhesive, so a doddle to fit.

Never heard of that store. Googled and nowhere near me. I did find one at Amazon tho' http://www.amazon.co.uk/WINDSCREEN-P.../dp/B004LUHNC8
But....I want my Volvo original one! Oh, and by the way. Volvo part no = 8616658 |
lol... is that what that clip is for....
i thought it was for holding a tax disc over in europe (LHD)..:loser: |
Never really noticed the one in my C30 and I've had it nearly four years, haha!
That's a handy little addition, I'm always plonking 'em on the dash. |
That little clip is one of those ideas that if you tried to sell it most people would laugh and ask what's wrong with the top of the dash? But once you've got used to one it really is almost unthinkable to have to do without one. It was one of the first bits I salvaged from my old 850 to replace the broken one in my V70.

Mine got broken when the guy replaced the windscreen, didn't think a new one would be available. Shall get one now I have a part number. Missed it so much.

....I'm still to scared to pull that trim off that covers the fixing location for fear of breaking it tho'!
"It was one of the first bits I salvaged from my old 850 to replace the broken one in my V70l" - You must have done it Dave. Do I have to remove the door rubber to enable the plastic to release? I used to end up with so many notes and tickets behind mine that it would need a good purge every month or so. I may even get a couple of those stick on ones now I know they exist to give me some 'extra storage'! ....and while on this subject. Others may not keep so much 'junk' as me in their cars. I need more 'pockets, cubby's, penholders, change holders' and pretty much any sort of additional space I can create. Anyone come up with or seen any good ideas of additions to enable me to surround myself with my crap while in my car? |
