RE: winter pack?

Auto's have a winter setting on the gearbox, probably means that, otherwise most other makes add front light wash/wipe, TRACS, heated seats etc. I have all the above on mine but I thinks its standard rather than extras (its a T5 GLT according to the log book).

The winter setting was, and still is, a standard item on the auto boxes of the old 70 series and current C70. It starts the car in second gear if I'm not mistaken, in order to avoid wheelspin in snow or on ice. From memory, the winter pack includes such things as heated seats, headlamp wash/wipe, etc., but I think TRACS was standard. It certainly was on my 97 V70.

Contents of winter pack may have varied over time, but about '97/'98 I'm pretty sure it included heated front seats, headlamp wash-wipe and front fog lights - all of which were standard on AWD models.

Sarge is right with the later models I remember reading it in a recent s40 brochure. But didnt all the 850s come with those items as standard? Maybe its a case of a garage advertising it as having an option when it was standard anyway?
