Remote key fob battery change
Hi all,
I need to change the battery in the key fob as sometimes I nede to hold it on the windscreen to open the car! So, before I change the battery, I was just wondering if it's a simple swap or if I need to have it re-programmed or something? Don't wanna be caught short this close to Christmas! Thanks in advance Dave |
Just a simple swap. I think you get ten minutes before it forgets anything.
Make sure you have the right batteries on hand and you'll do it easily. |
Many thanks!
Next question - any idea what battery it is? |
CR2016 in my C70 fob (checked by the simple method of opening the casing :D the battery doesn't fall out), which uses the same battery according to PFV.
|
Thanks - just checked and mine is the same... However it has 2 batteries (one on top of the other) - is this normal?

Changed my batteries in my FOB the other day for my S40 and I can operate the alarm from house!!. Really easy to change, got them off eBay at a bargin price and keep a couple in the glove box as spares.
|
So there was 2 in yours to?
Sorry to sound thick, but assumed there'd only be 1 battery in! |
Yes theres two batterys (CR2016), make sure you put them in the correct way.It does tell you in one half on the plastic covers.

Same in mine (2-button remote for '98 S40)
2 x CR2016 button cells. Cheap as chips on ebay. |
