Alarm reset
 

Hi all.. I have an issue with the alarm system on my 2002 S40 1.9 td. ('98-'03 model)

I had a problem before where sometimes the alarm wouldn't set and I eventually figured out that the bonnet sensor wasn't being closed properly. After a bit of adjustment it then worked fine for a long time. Now again the same problem has arisen however the same solution doesn't work. Having decided that the sensor may have been faulty, I cut it out altogether and just twisted the wires into a permanently closed position. But even still the system doesn't set when I press the lock button. I'm hoping maybe a system reset might solve the problem but I don't know how to do it. Any advice would be appreciated greatly.
