power supply in the rear?
Has my '97 940 estate got an easy to get at live feed in the back?
I want to fit a ciggy lighter in the boot, I'm perfectly capable of running a live from the front but if there's already one there i'll use it. cheers. |
There is a 30A permanent live feed in the trailer feed loom, not needed unless you are towing a caravan.
I fitted a 15A in-line fuse for safety and sourced a 12V socket from the boot of a scrapped V70. I mounted it next to the tool tray on the right hand side of the boot. It's very useful for running a cool box on a long journey. http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...m/DSC00095.jpg |
That's a stylish way of doing things.

Mine has a tow bar on it, can you remember which wire it was? |
However
I have tapped that for a small power amp for a sub in one (maybe two) of mine but that is a good idea for a boot fridge (now that I have bought one at vast expense).

Ps
It's easy to identify - its the big one, since it's 30 amps. My recollection is green, or maybe blue, but it's definitely the big one!

That's genius Gavin, I've wired a loose socket into the towbar feed before and left it in the cubby in the floor, but that's a much better way of doing things :)
Now... Anyone breaking a V70?! ;) Steve  |
In my '97 940 I think it was a white wire with a black stipe.
It's the only one with power when the ignition is off. |
Thanks everyone, I'll have a look later today.
Nice tip about the V70 socket as well, however as you can order a socket online (Amazon have them for under a fiver) I'll probably just get one from them, admittedly they don't look as nice but it'll do the job and I need it done for the weekend. |
Will mine have the same - 1990 760? Fitting an amp in the boot at the moment but haven't finished because I couldn't be bothered hooking it up at the battery end.
