Lots of ham fisted ginger bears just use a pipe wrench, which splits the EGR. The good book then says it is supposed to be replaced if split, although for many diesels the dealers won't clean them. Did you ever get the special removal tool? If so could you post up some pictures and measurements? Think I'll try to fashion my own
