Yes. I had my S40 2.0D, 08 model, serviced at my local Ford dealer for its 12,000 mile service. The Ford Dealer charged £145 compared to my Volvo dealers £295. All the appropriate parts were used and the warranty is valid, it is a lease car so this is critical.
I am now up to 22,000 miles and the next service will be due in November. I will be using the Ford dealer again. (incidentally I presume you mentioned a Ford dealer for the same reason that I used one, the links between the Focus and the S40) 22,000 miles in and my car has not given me a moments trouble.
