C70 Cambelt change ?
Hi all - just registered on here having just bought a C70 T5 GT - great car but already the air-con fault lights are flashing so I have no fan blower at the moment ! Anyway - re the Cambelt ... my C70 is 2001 and done 80k miles. I am not sure when the cambelt is due mileage wise although I believe the time period is 10 years ? I know the garages like to scare us all into changing cambelts on most cars earlier than necessary but I would have thought that at 9 years old and 80k (on a v.clean model) it shouldn't need doing yet ?? Is there any commom thread regarding T5 2.3 engine cambelt failures - or are they known to be very tough ?
I know a lot of cars have a 60k / 5 year belt change rule, but if Volvo say 10 years rather than the usual 5 - then surely the belts will last 120k miles ???
