Just wanted to thanks for a very useful thread. I recently bought a V70 D5 SE 185 6speed. But when I gave it some wellie the soot filter full warning came up. After reading this thread I gave the regeneration process a try on a long run today. First off I tried 3000rpm in 5th gear on a 40min dual carriage way run. But that didn't work. So I then tried 80mph in 4th at around 3800rpm for a fuel guzzling 40 mins.
That seems to have done the trick. The rest of the trip back it was full of beans and effortless power for overtaking.
