If u do not know where dryer is suggests u r not qualified to tamper with a/c? Worse case you let gas out and if it touches your skin you will receive severe burns; best case your system empty so you change dryer but if you do not vacuum down immediately the dryer will suck up all moisture in air and you are back to where u started. Apologies if I am wrong about your skills but please be very careful as working on a/c systems is like air bags- there is danger of significant harm and you must have suitable PPE.
