Default How to test a spare SC-805 radio/cd/cass. player

There's this spare SC-805 unit that I have. But I am not sure anymore if it's working OK or not.

I have a proper 12 volt DC adaptor, so I thought: why not connect it just to see if it's basically working? If it's not alive at all then I don't need to bother further with it.

But if I check the pinout online, then I only see where to connect the 12v + and not the minus. What am I missing here? Or is it a stupid idea?

Can anyone perhaps help? Much appreciated!
