Here we go again part 2......
Well its been a few months at least since my last post, must be getting the car sorted now then you'd think?
Well wifey got in the car yesterday to drive to work and there is no power again. Seems like the turbo isn't picking up at all. No warning lights or noises yet. Booked into the garage (private not Volvo) to have some diagnostic work done, and while its there having the Cam Belt done along with the water Pump and a new pulley plus a full service, basically its 95k service. Theres £600 gone already without them telling me whats wrong with the power. the turbo is garanteed for 12months, what should i do if its the Turbo again? Should I play hell with Volvo UK or the Local Volvo garage? |

If the turbo has failed again you need to speak to whoever fitted it for you. Hopefully it's something simple this time.

Well the car is back and it feels like a new car again.
The garage found no problems with the Turbo but asked why i bathed the Air filter in oil?????? When the turbo went oil had got over the airfilter the subsequent months had covered it in a covering of dead insects and other crud. Funny that I asked that the air filter be changed when they did the Turbo. The more worrying thing is the fact that it is the original one from the Volvo factory Now reading the service manual it should have at least been an aftermarket one by now. Oh well at least i now know it is sorted properly. Full service, Cam Belt, water pump and adjuster with some diagnoistic work for £600. Volvo wanted £420+VAT for just the service! |

Cam belt or Chain
Hi All, when does the cam belt or chain need replacing on s40 2.0D 2004 (new shape) or Not. Done 78.000 miles, nothing in the Service book saying if it's ever been changed.
