Well all I can say is enjoy your car when you get it. I was a Field Engineer for about 18 years driving up to 80,000 a year at one point and started out with a 1.3 Astra Estate. Then it was 1.6 carburetted and 1.8 fuel injection. Worst car ever the 1.8 Astra estate. Fuel pump relays at the back were always failing. Then had Citroen ZX and finally a Toyota Carina Estate, again a 1.6 and gutless.
The Citroen ZX with a diesel engine was good, noisy but fun. Before the Volvo bug bit me I had a 1.6 Focus. Upgraded to a 2.0 petrol V40 and now a 2.0D V50. I do prefer the V50 and its quite lively diesel engine. Anyways, hope you enjoy your new car come July. |

Have driven the V60 1.6D DrivE model as a rental from Hertz in Sweden and all I can say is that it was impressive and did not feel slow for one bit!
Sue, not a rocket (you would never look at a 1.6D for that) but more than enough and happily cruised at 90-100mph if I wanted to. Great mpg too!
