It'd got pretty heavy before, gradually so I didn't notice that much, and then last year I sprayed the knuckles with WD40 and it was instantly much better. I put a bit of 3-in-1 on after that to try and make it last.

I know it was an MOT fail this time round but I didn't notice it being that bad. It might have seized up a bit more since it's been sat. Maybe get the front up on axle stands and give it a good spray and a wiggle from lock to lock?

Feels better since greasing but by no means right. Did it used to centre itself fine? As when u turn the wheel it just seams to lock itself in that position, u have to force the wheel back to centre. Could well be down to the tracking being way off. But I've never driven a car that feels as weird as it. I'll see what my mechanic mate reckons.

It was always a bit "notchy". I thought it tracked alright, though the steering wheel was off centre, if that isn't a contradiction. I guess I just got used to it.

How about a decent set of these - it's either IPD USA or a nice guy in Australia....

I'll be making my own version of those for sure. I just thought most people would already have the ipd ones. So my first plan was to make a bar to go across the front studs. Basically exactly the same design as my tubular 700/900 strut braces. As in having a upright tube with slots in, and a single bar across. I think would look really good with the triangulation bars. But I'll make some triangulation ones as well if t people want them. Eventually will be making a lower brace similar hopefully to again my 700/900 ones, and for people who want something really fancy! a all in one tubular brace, sort of like the kalpenke ultimate 240 brace, But my own design.

It drives straight. Just the fact it doesn't right itself is usually tracking. I'm not complaining by the way. I love it already! I'll get it sorted

I will definitely do a bit of a thread on what I've been doing but, not sure it'll be in as much depth as some people's I've seen. When doing stuff I tend to get my head down and get cracking. I tend to forget to take photos of things in different stages. I wish I'd taken a lot more of my sunbeam when I'd been building that. But I'll definitely try and remember to take photos.

Cheers Paul! I'm actually really glad now that I let it go. It was just sat on the drive and not getting any better so I'm happy it's gone to someone who's going to get it back on the road, and help other people with their cars too, so good result.

I'll have another 240 though. Passed up a nice GLT a couple of months ago - 88, 2.3 but k-jet with an M47, and red kicking myself a bit now.
