Bump..
Also there's receipts to show last year the previous owner had the MAF and 2nd O2 sensor changed , along with a new yellow label ETM so these jobs don't have to be done again.

Steve, I keep flitting about this post, it's probably the 4th time I've found myself staring at this R...

I've got to ask about the cloud of smoke after a few days of sitting - can you tell me more about it? Are we talking blue/white/black, the volume of it, how long it lasts?
Ever had the turbo off the vehicle?

Pat.

Hi Pat.
I'll answer as much as I can. It's hard to tell as I start the car up myself and there's a slight cloud of smoke..first time I noticed it was in the rear view mirror. It's not white or black..maybe grey? And it only lasts that split second of starting ie about 1 second. It only happens if the car has been sitting for a few days, definitely doesn't happen if I used the car the next day. What I'll do is get the wife to start it up and I'll video it. Genuinely running the car there is definitely no smoke, from idling to full booting it on full boost there there is no smoke. No I've never had the turbo off. I'm just a newbie when it comes to that kind of job and it needed work done on it it would go to my local garage, thankfully only used them for smaller jobs like fixing the A/C, MOTing, and fitting the exhaust.
I'll get onto the video tomorrow as I used the car y'day and see if it happens then.
Where are u? Any more questions please ask.
Cheers,
Steve

Thanks Steve, look forward to seeing that. I'm down in Leicester, but It's not the first (or last) time I've bought a car long distance...!

Hi Pat.
Right I started Rydell tonight and the bloomin' thing wouldn't do it , and that was sitting Monday 6pm to tonight at 6pm!! I recorded the video and will post it here anyway . I suppose that's a good thing in a way as I haven't seen it do it for a while now.

I'll try it again on Friday. Maybe the car was just settling in after all the work I had done on it incl the oil and coolant/radiator change? as I used it a good bit on Monday there ( it doesn't get used much at all as I have another estate car that has every panel marked and I'm not so worried about it!)
Cheers,
Steve

Default Update...

Gave Rydell angood clean and polish this evening

Also had a thought re the smoking.. A while back I put a good measure of Redex Petrol treatment in with a full tank of petrol and maybe that's it worked its way out now since I thought it didn't like it and I have bought a good few top-ups of petrol since!

That is one beautiful car ! Pricewise, that is what such a good car should be worth, but whether the market will deliver I don,t know .
It is possible that there may be a collector out there .Good luck!
I have been trying to sell a boat recently and that is another market that the bottom has dropped out of .

Thanks Bournricha I know what u mean. I really won't sell it for much less as given the parts and time spent on it it is imo worth it. Hopefully the prospective buyer will realise that too
What do u think re the petrol additive? Could that have just been cleaning any crap out've it?

Btw good luck with selling the boat..if there's a time to sell a boat you'd think now would be the best time eh? Especially up in beautiful Oban .. I love it up there.
