My workshop is restricted by a low height, about 2.3m so no good for any full height lifts. I have the 12v 5000TL quick Jack which I bought from Costco. They’re excellent but limited to about 1/2m lift off the ground. Which is fine for me as I can’t have a full height lift. They are however properly mobile as only weigh about 35kg (I think). I use a 12v power pack with a motorbike battery to run it so no mains power required. Means I can easily put them in the estate and take them anywhere to use as long as the surface is okay. I hang them on the wall when not in use. The lower lift scissor lifts were the other option for me but glad I went with the Quick Jack.
There is some excellent food for thought in that Mitch - thank you.

I've looked up Quick Jack, and single post jacks. There are lots of options all at quite reasonable prices. Once I've moved into the new place I'll see which will suit best.

Finally indeed!!, it has been a rather frustrating process, but at least I've learnt to have patience and perseverance, something that I will no doubt need in copious amounts, with hopefully my 145 project....

Cheers

I thought I'd recalled you starting a garage project thread some time ago Steve, but I can't find it. Perhaps I'd imagined that?

You definitely are not imagining this Alan, I did post a thread a few months ago, oh cancel that, just seen it was last October

https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=328438

Time flies eh, could have sworn it was only a few months ago😀

Any suggestions?? Continue this thread about restoration projects in general, or start a new one specific to workshop/ equipment (toys for boys)😀

Cheers

Ah! I thought so. I'm pleased I don't have the dementia also.

I'd say carry on with that thread Steve, it has lots of previous discussion and information that will be absolutely pertinent to both your garage and 140 projects.
