I have followed your thread on RR, well done for getting it back.
As for storage charges yes you do have to pay if you don't claim off your insurance, storage charges should only start from the day after the police release the car from SOCO examination if the car was towed at the request of the police for examination, if you asked for it to be towed you are responsible for all the charges including storage. |

When my Rover was nicked and recovered for forensics I had to pay £150 for the uplift I moaned and whinged at length but still had to pay before they would release the car. They tried to charge for storage but could not justify this charge as they had not released the car by contacting me. Its just a scam they run with the recovery company. In my area I am reliably assured that one o the top plods has a controlling interest in the recovery company . Go figure!
I am so pleased to see you are going to sort the car out And am looking forwards to seeing the pics. Well done to everyone who is helping the biscuit out, it shows the strength of this community that so many people have helped save this beautiful car from the clutches of thieves and are helping get it back to its former glory. It makes me proud to be a part of this forum when I see the generosity of spirit of the members, pat yourselves on the back, people like you are in short supply! Ps if plod do charge the guy try using the small claims court to sue the crim for out of pocket expense incurred as a result of his actions ,there is at least the scrap value of his other cars at the yard even if he turns out to have no other attachable assets. Small claims is pretty cheap to set in motion, why should you end up out of pocket because these scum cant keep their hands off your stuff, fight on biscuit , never surrender, oops getting all Churchill again.
