Handbrake Query
The handbrake has recently failed on my car and no matter how much I tighten the nut under the centre console the car will still move easily with the handbrake on. I read on these forums that something could be seized at the caliper end of things, but I am unsure about what it may be and how to go about unseizing it (what direction to hit it) After speaking to a Volvo specialist and telling him the symptoms of the problem, he came to the conclusion that the cables may have stretched.
How much do these cables run new and can they be bought cheaper than dealership prices online? Also do they come with all the necessary fittings or do they need to be purchased seperately? Best to replace everything with new parts if it doesn't cost an arm and a leg lol. I was quoted £35 an hour for labour and told replacing the cable could take 1-1.5 hours. Seems reasonable to me.
What do you guys think?
