Boot lights c70 my2008
Evening all.
I have a 2008 C70 T5 convertible. As far as I can tell, the interior boot lights don't seem to be working. There are two, one either side of where the number plate sits on the exterior. Am I missing something simple? If not something simple, does anyone have an idea what the issue could be? Thanks in advance. CTO |

I should probably add, all other interior lights are working. As are the puddle lights.

Doesn't look like any of the C70 regulars on here have had this one.
I'm assuming you've had the bulbs out and checked them? And you've found and checked the fuse? If so, and the 12v socket and the roof raise button which are also on that panel are working, I'd guess whatever switch is faulty that's activated when the boot is open. I can't see an obvious switch on a quick look around the boot opening on mine, although thinking about it, it may be a microswitch in the lock itself. You could try lubricating inside the lock with WD40 through a spray-straw, that's a trick that works with the microswitches in the door locks when they open to the first stage on their own. Short of that I'm out of ideas I'm afraid, but you could use the forum search to see if any of the S40/V50/C30 guys have had anything similar. Good luck and do post back if you get a resolution.

Thanks both for your replies.
I haven't had the bulbs out yet, seemed unlikely both would have failed. I will check though. Re the plastic trim and the switch, I'll have a dig about tomorrow and see what's going on. |

In the interests of thread closure
I removed both of the luggage space lights today. Neither of them were connected, no idea why not. I have reconnected them and all is well. Very odd. |

Sorry, I maybe haven't phrased the answer correctly.
Both of the connectors for the lights were unplugged. One on either side. I had to reconnect them both, not sure why that would be? CTO And the roof lift was working before and after I plugged the lights back in Last edited by CTCNetwork; Apr 14th, 2017 at 02:59. |
