94 Wentworth... Turbo not functioning

Hi everyone
Before I assume that the turbo is goosed is there anything I should look for before I start to cry.

Check to see if the actuator to the wastegate is working or if it's still connected to the turbo... When I bought my car, the actuator wasn't connected, and it was struggling to get up to "speed".

If they're okay, do a wiggle test on the turbine, if the turbine is making contact with the housing then that's a no-no.

Check the vacuum lines as well....
