Unhappy V40 t4 total electrical failure

I have this problem (which is intermittent) and never happens from cold (so far). Usually at low revs either braking into traffic lights or parking (if I'm lucky) but never when I'm driving along say in motorway conditions.

basically the the engine dies like I've stalled it and when you turn the key in the ignition there is no power. The lights on the dash are all ready dimmed but any attempt to turn the engine over seems to kill any power that's left (the starter motor does not move cabin lights which are already dimmed dim even more).

I leave it for 20mins to an hour and some how it usually corrects it's self and start up OK.

I've taken it in to Volvo who have found nothing wrong but it has to be said it perform without fault while it was there.

Any suggestions??

Default battery problems

im guessing its the battery terminals either loose or corroded, and if this fails its an internal battery fault with the plated being damaged.
how age of the battery should be a big clue!
