Default xc90 power steering pump

Does anyone know if the power steering pump from a S80 D5 is the same pump for the xc90 D5?

Regards Phil.

Check the units you have to see if the part numbers match.
Same part number=same part.

Hi there whats up with your pump?

I think I might be having problems too. My steering is soooo heavy idling, put the smallest amount of revs on and its fine. But its been a bit dodgy in the odd corner and difficult to park in tight spaces!

So I was thinking mine might be away too?!

I took a pic of mine earlier, how does it compare with yours?

Mine is a 2009 btw.

I had similar problems but check your front tyre pressures, mine was at 22 and 24 psi but still looked ok, pumped them up and been great no problem wot so ever could be as simple as that.

Thanks d3cym mine are totally fine.

It almost like the steering is pushing against the direction you turn the wheel and maybe even more so towards the near side.

Sorry feel like I've crashed this post!

My 2003 car is the same. Parking it goes almost solid sometimes but other times it's fine, a few revs and the steering is as light as it should be. I checked my fluid and found the wrong stuff in there. It should be Pentosin CH11F. We use it in the clutch systems in trucks at work. Mine had normal ATF in it. It was a little better but I think a new pump is going to be needed soon.

Did you do several drain and fills to remove the ATF?
It takes a good 2-3 litres of CHF being circulated and bled to get the old out and your new fluid looking spot on.
