Default Fuel pump fuse

The fuel pump fuse keeps blowing intermittently. It first happened a year ago and I simply replaced and went on my way. It has since blown 5 or6 times since, the last time at 3 in the morning and tried 6 fuses which all blew! Relayed home the next day put a new fuse in and it started first turn! Any thoughts?

Thanks in anticipation.

Check all wiring to the pump for physical damage (chaffing) especially where it goes over / around metal objects and especially outside the vehicle.

If OK, suspect a failled fuel pump. Replace with new.

Fuses blow for a reason. If you replace a blown fuse and it blows too then you must find the cause before changing the fuse again.

The definition of insanity is repeating the same action and expecting a different result!

Default Just to let you know!

Well finally got the fault fixed! It was a short in the fuel pump and sender unit.
It had rubbed the wire causing short. Ben at Bradford Motor Co. Cheltenham did a fantastic job sorting it and at an unbelievable price! If you need work on your Volvo and are near Cheltenham/Tewkesbury I can't recommend them enough.

Well - no need to rush with the fix...

Thanks for the update though, always good to hear how these problems get sorted.

Cheers
