ICM bulbs
In my testing of my ICM I thought I would look at the bulbs whilst it was out as very few seemed to be working an i did wonder whether it was related to my other issues. Anyway I dont think it is. So aside from the main ICM issue
I have 2 ICM's here. 10 bulbs per ICM = 20 bulbs. I cant believe that only 5 of those 20 work!!! I believe these bulbs are around £5 each which seem extortionate !! Does anyone have a cheap fix or know what spec the actual bulbs are. They don't appear to be the traditional capless design where the wires bend back around the glass. I dissected one, and was surprised to find that they are not green bulbs at all - they actually have a little rubbery cover. See photo. As long as the holders are ok... i cant see why you cant just replace the little bulb - if you can get hold of them?? Rgds Nick |

Is this any help?
At least it seems to give the spec of the lamps (bulbs) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10x-4-7mm-...-/111233615980 Or these https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/e78/HOTSY...ack/B00W4VJFCM Cheers Dave Last edited by Harley Dave; Mar 31st, 2017 at 09:25. Reason: More Info |

I have found some on the RS site that might do the job, but they are only rated at 12v rather than 14v so might not last. I will report how i get on. It seems strange that two different sizes are used. I don't know whether anyone has attempted it but it if the hole in the board was slightly enlarged i cant see why you couldn't fit the larger 4.7 bulb and holder - assuming the circuitry would handle the slightly increase load. Why not replace them with Resistor LEDs. They are available for a few pence each and include an internal resistor, so are plug and play.

...and i guess you would need to be careful with the polarity.

Modern white LEDs can be very bright. Dimming might be an issue though - they dim using PWM not variable voltage.
