We, as a civilization, have adjusted our fear of God to include the Car God(s).
It is this fear of impending doom and/or punishment that keeps us sharp.
Can't you tell by how harmoniously our respective societies purr along?
We all enjoy peace and security because we watch out for each other and know justice is around every corner.

Yeah, right. G&K

Keep a towrope in the car and I will keep an eye out for you.
Terminal bang? Isn't that what Adam Faith had?

Everything and nothing can let you down.

I have had newish cars that break down (won't buy German again, VWs and Audis just don't seem to live up to their reputation) and old ones that keep going.

TLC and a good look round to check for obvious pending issues will go a long way to keeping it going.

That's only 458k miles more than my largest mileage! Phew.

I see you are in Salisbury - whereabouts?

I will def get the tow rope in the car, but are you able to help out with a tow when the car is overseas ;-)

Would be good to catch up, hopefully while still running!

Downton.
Haven't driven it that far yet, suppose it would make it.
There was a V70 with that sort of mileage for sale recently and was mentioned
on here, Is this the same car?

623K - now that's reassuring, had the lid off my 850 at 470K looked really good could still see the honing on all the cylinders, if it had been a manual then the improvements to the flywheel(dualmass) will have protected gearbox life, which was making a little gear noise on mine as it's geartronic? happy motoring..............

Hi Simon,

That's a very kind offer, and I wouldn't mind taking you up on that offer at some point a time that suits you.

The car does have a couple of nuances - sometimes slow out of the gate first thing on start up for a few hundred yards, and an engine service required message that comes up the first time revs get to about 2.5k, but doesn't affect the running of the car ie. No limp mode etc.

Car done 3k miles without hitch, including 2 or 3 200 mile trips.

Regards, mark
