Default V50 2.0D '05 - faults/questions

Hi all;
I'm new to this forum and to Volvo ownership but it seems the car I have bought has some issues! I would appreciate any help you can give me.

After searching these forums I have found lots of threads on the "Anti-Skid Service" message, there seem to be a variety of answers. The fault code read shows "Brake Pressure Sensor. Incorrect offset value." Any ideas what could cause the offset or is this a generic error response for a faulty sensor? Its possible the tracking needs doing which I understand can lead to an Anti skid message, but then this would not throw up the error I have. The ABS works; I've had cause to use it!

Oil filter; it seems my local garage are struggling to get the filter off! I understand its a paper filter with a plastic housing. These prone to seizing (it shouldn't be that bad, its plastic!)? If its wrecked during the removal, where can I get a new one?!

I also have a creaky drivers seat but I think I can sort that one out having looked at the other threads; my plan is to take it off the base and re-grease etc.

That's all for now! Any help gratefully received.

Rob

Additional;

OK, further searching on these forums and I've found someone with the same fault code! They went to ecutesting who said it was a fault with the ABS module that required "re-building"; I take it the pressure sensor is part of this unit? Anyone know what the exact the problem is with it!? Seems to be a common fault.

Why not take your car to the main dealers as my "Anti-Skid Service Required" was fixed FOC due to a known "issue" with the brake control module on certain cars with certain chassis numbers. Try it as they may be cheaper than the re-build, especially if it's free!!

Well why not try?

They can only say no. It may depend on service history but it's certainly worth a try
