Polestar upgrade

Hi Guys

New to the forum just wondered if you had any thoughts on the polestar upgrade for 2011 XC90 R Design model. Not sure if it is available yet but would be interested in comments.

Thanks Kizzer. Interesting. I note on the site that when I click on my model XC90 it does not show/mention the R-Design, and that I have 3 engine options. I assume mine is the D5 variant however, that is shown as having 185 bhp whereas mine is the 200bhp version.

Does that mean Polestar don't/can't do it?

don't quote me on it, but i think your D5 200 bhp has the same components as the 185 version, except its got a bit of a remap already pulling a bit more power from the same engine. i expect the Polestar would work on your but will only produce as much power as a remap on the 185 model.

If you're thinking of a remap, i can recommend MTE as i had my 185 D5 done last October. Its 2/3rds price of Polestar and power output is around 220bhp and 500+NM torque. Chap from Kalmer Union - Don Norchi will probably be on soon.

just seen yours is a 2011, so i expect you may have warranties issues with non Volvo approved remap if its on there when you take it in to dealers.

Thanks for the info. I have seen mention of these remaps where you can reset it back to normal for servicing etc and then set it back up afterwards. Allegedly untraceable to Volvo technicians.

Any ideas on that?

There is mention on a thread close by to do with tuning chips.

According to what I've read on these these forums it's not untracable. The computer records every change.

The 200 bhp already has the Polstar remap installed as standard by Volvo.
