Hi there,
Just out of interest, what is a contactless TPS and what does it do ?
I have a 2004 C70 2.4T GT, and my mate has a 2000/01 V70 2.3 T5, would it have any effect / help on these engines ?
cheers.
Joe.

It replaces the old film resistor sensor that eventually wears and causes all hell to break loose with the ETM.

If your ETM is playing up, throttle isn't responsive, erratic idle etc... then this would help.

Apart from sorting th ETM issue made my V70 so much smoother and responsive.

Hi there,
My mates 2.3 T5 V70 2001 is having a few rev problems. we where told it was the MAF Sensor and have replaced it twice. The symptoms are,
1. with the MAF connected, will only rev to 3000rpm, but will tick over, no real power to tow ect.
2. with MAF disconected, Will rev up to 6500 rpm, will tow better but will not tick over and cuts out whilst slowing for rounderbouts ect.
3. The new ones worked for a cpl of days, Plenty of power, revs well, and ticks over no problem.
Then on third day, back to No 1. (Happened with Both new Sensors).

Could this be that ETM prob ? and if so what can I do to elieviate it ?.
cheers,
Joe.

Joe 1 simple question here, is he using genuine bosch ones or aftermarket jobs?

the Volvos only really run well on the gen bosch items

how does this contactless one work ? is it digital? how does it interface with the original controller which works on an analogue constantly variable basis, is there any interface modification required ? Another point there are TWO potentiometers in a ETM unit ..

They were bought from "Only Sensors" an Ebay shop, supposed to be Bosch equivilent, but ????
We will wait and see how this one does, then maybe try something else cos no codes are showing.

It uses a magnet on the spindle of the butterfly valve which induces a current in the sensor body. Google: Hall effect.

There are no touching parts, therefore contacless, so it cannot wear out.
