Wiring phone & dash camera to the same 12v
I currently have my phone wired up in the car directly to the 12v line that powers the cigarette lighter. I'm considering wiring up my dash camera in the same way to the same socket, would this likely blow a fuse? Would there be any merit it wiring up the camera to the rear passenger socket instead?

depends on what the current draw for the items are. Just looked at the iphone charger and its rated at 1A , the dashcam i used to have pulls about 500mA so i think its likely you will be fine.

If you can put the camera up at the top of the windscreen you could use the power for the sunroof.

If you intend running wires up the A pillar take care when taking the trim off as some of the cars have airbags fitted behind the trim - Mike

Thanks a lot for all the advice! Confident to go for it now and I'll be very careful not to disturb any airbags!

just watch if it is anything like the C30 a pillar trims there are some retaining ties holding it in which makes things fun.
