problems and modifications
hy guys. just bought a v40 estate. yes he has the prob with the airbag lights but i know why. prev owner exchanged interior incl seats and set the light of on this way. but .. well. i hope a mate of mine can cure this easyli and cheap.
he said so - at least. - there is a knocking from the front by steering hard andn driving fast of. what could that be? any ideas??? - now, the center caps of the alloys are missing. where can i get them ??? gunmetall coloured. - need to get one lightbulb proper in tomorrow as prev owner put it wrong in. lighting the sky instead the floor. maybe getting some extrem 100 watt. can this do any damage??? - was thinking about the airintake i used to run on my 2,7si Rocer??? just makes a better sound. dont think it has some influence on power. is only a 2 litre. but is the engine ok with that???? - rip speed backbox exhaust next week. open for a bit more noise. cant hear the engine running at all. lol - exchanged the original radio tape thing for dvd sat nav radio 7inch after i worked for 1 hour the cables out. all in red and red/yellow. dont matter what. stupid. the bloke who designed vovlo must be colour blind. lol - front and rear flashlight in windows, just need connecting to a switch. - frontfacing cctv next week - rearview cctv and reverse sensors next week , or maybe tomorrow. - bonnet latch did not shut the bonnet after releasing it, so loads of wd40 and the problem was solved. - the tank lock on CL is not loking the fuelcap - i tryd wd40 on that but it is not having it. is there any chance to exchange the original fuelcap for a lockable one who fits volvo perfect???? not the cheap poundland ones.or fix the problem?? - and i would like to exchange the baby batterie on the volvo for a van batterie. loads bigger but loads more power. there is next to the batterie a silver aluminium pipe. connected to something next to the radiator. any idea what this pipe is or suposse doing??? can it be replaced, bend or modified in longer one ( rubber ) to make space for the big batterie ? - black window tint to stop people looking inside and give more privacy - spot - foglights unless i find some original foglights on e bay for cheap - some multiplug ( tomorrow ) for mobile charging etc without using the cigi lighter plug. - question to that - where is the fusebox on the v40 please???? i have no book and would not know where to look for, unless is under the pannel on the driverside footrest. - and in the warmer time of the year seal the whole underneath with plasticoat against rust, water etc. can somebody tell me where i can get a more fancy grill or how to make one myself with mesh??? i did this on the rover burt i dont know if it works on a volvo v40???? - before i forgett, all the sun bleached plastik trimms will be back in black soon. again with plasticoat. looks awfull in grey. yuk. any help for my questions would be very welcommed. Thank you |

In regards to the aluminium piping next to the battery, pretty sure this is part of the a/c system and pretty sure you won't be able to change it for rubber tubing (though I may stand corrected).
There'll be fuses in a black box under the bonnet, near the top of the engine compartment and easily accessible so should be easy to spot. |
