Red face 1990 volvo 760 Turbo no start when cold

Hello all, new to forum.
I own a 1990 volvo 760 Turbo, 185K miles, which is experiencing a no start condition when cold. I have spark (timing light method). I was able to get it started by removing the fuel line from the fuel rail, place fuel line in bottle, cranks over once, starts, and runs. I then shut off the car. Re-hook up the fuel line to rail. Then it starts. That tells me there's quite a bit of residual fuel present in the intake. I trying to think of a failure scenario, could it be a defective engine temperature sensor? or cold start injector? If anyone has had a similar experience, appreciate a reply. Cheers

Smile Running smmmoooooth

Had a good weekend, fixed car problem and Patriots clinched the AFC.
Root cause of the no start condition was many. I ended up repairing two wires/connectors leading to the suppression relay on the strut tower and replaced the engine temperature sensor (readings not in range). I just removed and installed with new, car runs great. I also repaired a small tear in the intercooler house (air cleaner to turbo) next to exhaust manifold. Plan to replace new hose with new when part comes in.
Thanks to all.
