Yes it could be converted to a Manual, any volvo auto can be converted to manual if so desired.
Volvo obviously just tooled up that trim panel pictured for all 3 pedals, they didnt see the point in producing a panel with only 2 pedal cut outs. Economies of scale at work there. |

Thanks Chesh, My fear was that it waas a Manual converted to an Automatic but you think it may well have like this new.
This car has a VIN problem. The VIN says 740 whereas everything on the car says 760. regards, Bill |

You have misread the 5th digit , it should be 6 not 0 :-)
the 4th 5th and 6th digits are the model type eg 744 745 764 765 etc if volvo use that VIN it comes up as a 740 . saying that the old vadis doesnt recognise your corrected vin as correct .. so still something not quite right . if you send me your reg no in a PM i will check tomorrow .

The Volvo is the same, despite being an automatic from day one. I guess that Volvo decided that one part would do for all in the case of the lower dash panel

Thanks Telmo,
Your hortcut advises this is a 1985 740/760 limousine made in 1985 with a B28E engine and AW70/71 transmission. This has answered my new thread, what engine. I assumed it had a B280E but as it is a 1985 then it should have a B28E. Regards, Bill |

It could be possible that the body itself may have been a 740 item and 760 drivetrain put into it . Maybe because of irrepairable rot or accident damage.
