i had discovered a link on another thread to a ppc ovd reader for £50 from nordic parts but the link seems to be dead.

anyone know if a ford biased unit would work?

Heard only good things about the PPC unit.
Don't know anything about the other brands, my guess would be they are not sufficient for in-depth code reading, after all, it's Volvo that writes the engine software, not Ford.

Nevertheless, I too really think that you should have your codes read, I've been doing some Radish reading and found out that rpm management is a very complex procedure, and so many electronics, basic and peripheral engine hardware are involved in the final rpm figure.

As a side note> Did you know you even have a RPM sensor?

yeah im starting to think that there are many many factors on modern cars which regulate RPM. Good find on the rpm sensor... did a bit of digging and found something on the swedespeed forum regarding rpm sensor. not sure this would cause low idle but i'll keep digging.

next on the to do list is a DTC reader.
