I've now done 17,000 miles in my D3. I'm currently using my summer wheels with 245/45/17 Michelin Primacy with pressures at 32 psi for comfort.

My experience thus far is:

Motorway journeys: 50mpg readily achievable with cruise set at 70mph.

Local journeys of between 5 and 10 miles on country lanes and A/B roads, bit of town, parking etc but with some "booting it": 38mpg

Mixed is about 43mpg.

My Winter tyres are 225/50/17 Nokian WR G2 which I run at higher pressures (circa 38psi) and I get slightly better economy than above.

Hello,

Just thought I'd add some figures to the thread :-)

1st tank full in my MY12 D5 with manual box worked out at 44.3 mpg. Funnily enough the computer is actually reading accurate too! Mainly short journeys of less than 18 miles at a time but generally cruising easy between 40-60mph.

Happy with that as I wnated to see 10mpg more than my XC90 and I'm getting it. Not sure if mpg will improve as car puts on a few miles.....

Cheers,
Craig
