Default High horsepower - will it break

There is a small chance, ok so a tiny chance that i might have a project on the go.

I want to use a 940 estate shell just because its what i know from fiddling with my other ones. And they are only ~1500kgs for a big vehicle. It will be an engine conversion.

Finished product is going to be around 510hp / 560 ft lb at the wheels.

Obviously i know brakes / wider bigger wheels will be needed.

What about other stuff like the diff, axles, prop etc

I remember that guy who put a turbo V8 in one and broke the torque arms i think it was.

What can the M90 take?
Is a G80 locker the only LSD type diff available??

We want lots of pictures of shiny bits.
I reckon youll have to replace everything and strngthen the structure too, might be easier to put the body over a yank chassis ?

Finished product is going to be around 510hp / 560 ft lb at the wheels.

That's ambitious for a D24 Tic....LOL

Hi,

Google the Volvette. It has a twin turbo V8 engine in and seemingly goes like hot stuff off a shovel!

Default M90 etc

I suspect you will have to box in the swinging arms at the back - there used to be a picture on Youtube of a bloke driving home with S-shaped arms after dragging in the USA.

I also suspect but do not know that you will need to weld the back axle or go for one of the Ford ones.

The redblock M90 used to be reckoned to be able to manage 500bhp but I notice people's estimates seem to be lower these days.

Hmmm id rather not have to go for a new axle but if needs must i suppose.

I can get a 6 speed that mates straight to the engine so its not that big of an issue for the M90

Default boost

You'll be wanting big brakes, I presume it will have a big turbo? Ford 9" for back axle. I'd get it running first at low boost then worry about everything else.
