Default V70 Low Fuel Warning Light Dim?

I don't suffer from any vision defect. The little light that is supposed to warn you of low fuel is not very bright on my car. In fact it is so dim I don't notice it and have now run out of petrol for the third time (plonker I hear you think, and believe me I agree).

Are they all like this or is mine faulty somehow?

Ok, so you didn't notice the warning light - but what about the fuel guage?

Mine is about as bright as the rest of the warning lights, but is orange compared to the red of some other lights.

Presumably they are bulbs - and perhaps this one is going bad?

Still - I'd have to say, relying on the warning light, rather than the guage seems particularly bad practice.

I've already admitted my stupidity. I normally fill when I notice the gauge hits 1/4 full. The warning light is usually my failsafe but at this level of brightness its useless.

My light is nowhere near as bright as the other warning lights in the bottom right corner of the display - are those the ones you compare it to?
