Android Auto - Page 5

I have regular stand alone android radio in my c70 for over a year, able to wire in with no cut wires at all. Wired into stock amp and sounds great. I run a wifi hotspot for $10 / month and run pandora and waze on radio without having to sync or pair bluetooth all the time. It navagates with one button and can even do rear camera and dvr functions. Was about $250 1.5 years ago. Love it and hard to drive a car with less functions. The older cars are easier to interface to, newer cars are too integrated.

some of you may have already seen this.

Cars with one USB port, apparently can not have the Android auto it seems. and no option to retrofit this feature.

I was under the impression that this will be rolled out to at some point.
Still not sure!

I have a 2017 XC90 with one usb, all the articles seem to refer to the 2016 model. Can the 2017 be upgraded to Android Auto? It's really not clear,,,

I have a horrible feeling it can't, I've been checking out the Volvo website and for the apple car play upgrade it states "After market's CarPlay does not contain factory solution's USB hub." I think that's what is required for AA.

I checked with my dealer last week, unfortunately the answer is NO.

If the car doesn't have the extra USB port, it can't have the android auto update.

No fix in the pipeline as well.

Please correct me if anyone thinks this is wrong or had an android auto with USB port

Maybe not much consolation, but in my opinion as carplay and android auto stand at the moment you are not missing much and certainly not worth £300. Future updates may change my opinion of it.

Do you have both AA and ACP now?

Yes, have had it quite a while, dealer updated software. Tried AA with my Samsung, then decided to buy an iphone.
