You sure can do it by raising the control arm with a jack but you're doing that to ease removal as well.
Raising both sides eliminates all the goosing.

Hey, whatever space/equipment limitations exist in your particular situation need to be dealt with however you can.

If jacking only 1 wheel, attach the lower end link bolt then use a 2ft pry bar inserted between the subframe and the torsion bar, to pry down the end link enough to bring the upper bolt near the strut hole.
