240 Auto estate 1989
Would anyone like a reasonable 240GLT auto estate? I bought this to put back on the road for a relative but they changed their mind half way through.
Bad - I removed the seats and door trims in order to replace then with items from a GL. The alloy wheels are off but I have so many of these that I can probably put them back again! The n/s rear arch needs a rust repair as does the rear of that sill. Accident damage to o/s doors but repairable and I can supply a replacement door anyway. Lift pump in tank may have an issue. Good - Other than the above the body is pretty clean. Brakes have been serviced and work well. New rear dampers. Engine is exceptionally good and has a new timing belt and water pump. New exhaust but it may be one for a GL. Good reflectors in headlamps (may be new but I can't remember). Working central locking, electric mirrors. Nice headlining, dash and steering wheel. Car colour metallic dark grey. 140,000 miles. I have a stupid number of 240s and didn't need this one in the first place. My option is to remove the engine, lights, dash etc and weigh it in but it can still make a nice car for someone. I'm not selling parts but will help make this a complete vehicle if it's going back on the road. I don't want it to go for banger racing but it's cheap. (I also have a complete silver H reg GL man estate mech inj high miles which could be useful to someone) PM me please.

Indeed, they've been off the road for a while but are not at the 'trees growing through them' stage as I have to move them around every so often and the cars are parked on concrete or tarmac.
The grey GLT had a fair amount of work done on it before the project was cancelled and it seems a shame to waste it. The number of Volvos here is utterly ridiculous and I should give other people the chance to resurrect a few! PM me and we can chat or meet as you're local-ish.

Sold
240 GLT estate now has a new home locally. I have other surplus cars, however.
