Default S40 57' 2.0D Center console issue.

Hello guys, this is my first post on here, and I would like to say hello to you all.

I have recently had a few issues with the electrics in my S40. At first, my Center console would freeze from time to time, the radio and climate control would do its own thing and be completely inresponsive, but after a stop and 10-15 minutes it seemed to sort itself out.

It hasn't happened for a while, and last night iv noticed there is no power at all to the central console, radio, heaters, everything.. Just completely gone.

I went out today and changed all the fuses relating to the 'infotainment system' and also the supply fuse to the glovebox fuse board itself, which has done nothing.

Just wondered if anyone can offer me a quick fix or advice on what to do next. The electrical gremlins are the only thing I can't stand about this otherwise flawless car.

Thanks in advance guys.

Check the CEM plugs beneath the glove box, sometimes can be kicked accidentally causing loose connections!

Thumbs up

Thanks a lot, il check this out tomorrow.

It also does another really cool trick.. When you start the car up, the boot latch opens..

Not annoying at all.

Just make sure the main plugs that power the CEM are all clean and connected properly. Hope this will sort your problem.

My cd stereo has frozen before... I paused it and tried to turn it back up, the loudness bar would come up on screen but not move with no music. Turned the car off for 30 mins and went back to it and it was working ok.

For the no power going to your stereo ect.... Check all the connections under the dash/ on the floor on the passengers side, make sure they are all fitted correctly. I dont think it would be the rear of stereo because if you had no power there you would have no power to speedo ect.. You could pull it off though and check all 3 plugs are in properly
