To be honest I think the pricing in general is a tad high but then my V50 now three years old would have cost me £32 K with all the extras but at least that has the escuse of being a compact Sport Wagon rivalled against an A4 Avant / 3 Series Wagon.

I love the look of the 'new' V40 and it's certainly packed with lots of electronic gadgets, but how new is it really? It's still based on the same floor pan as the S40/V50 which is now quite old. It still comes with the same range of engines. Where are the new super efficient 4 cyl diesels we have been promised? Where is the powershift gearbox for the D2?
Don't get me wrong, I'd quite happily have one if I were looking to change, but I do agree the prices look a little high. Let's hope they put on the loyalty discounts from new... |

Will be interesting to see what discounts they offer on the V40. I was looking at a V60 D3 SE Lux with auto and driver's support pack, dealer offered it for £27k which is about a £5k saving from list.
If they don't discount the new V40 then effectively the larger V60 will be cheaper to buy. Guess it's dependant on how popular it turns out to be. S/V60s don't seem to be in much demand judging by the discounts available. I'll be looking at both, would prefer V40 as I don't need a larger car but they do seem to be taking the pi$$. I spec'ed up an equivalent 1-series and the V40 is dearer.

£33,595 for what I speced up. I'd be wanting that for £28,000 as I got 8k off my V60

V40 Saga
Why no petropl auto listed - particularly as modern auto boxes can be MORE economical than a d++++l one?
