Alarm Siren Problems??
This seems fairly common problem but it appears that my alarm siren has gone faulty as i'm getting an "Alarm Service Required" warning. This is also married with the hazards flashing.
I've read a couple of posts on this matter and there seems to be a replacement siren for about £80.00 but a garage suggested to just disconnect the siren. Credit crunch and all that! My question is what feedback does the siren provide to the ECU/ alarm controller to indicate the fault? Is it a voltage output or maybe just a fault signal?? My thoughts where to maybe link out the fault/ feedback signal so the alarm service stopped appearing on start up?? Not sure if i'm well off the mark but it's just a thought... All replies would be apprieciated. Cheers... |

If only things were that simple.
The siren is connected to the cars computer (CAN) network, it will notice it's missing and the alarm will remain, no easy way round this. |

I have this problem.Simply pull the fuse for the siren. It is clearly marked on the fuse board cover.
You will still get the message on start up.The immobiliser still works so no worries there.I have been running my car like this for 6 months!! Hope this helps you. |
