Thanks, I enjoy the metal and bodywork. I normally just plod along and enjoy my time, trying to get this last bit of welding done quickly so the painting can start.

Bit more progress tonight. Should be nice and strong, using 2mm plate as it was handy. Unfortunately no one has the right hand side cowl so I will need to patch it up as well.

I sprayed Jenolite rust converter and epoxy before I welded in the top section and more rust converter before I left. I’ve left a wee hole I will weld up last so I can spray in more converter and epoxy after this section is welded. After the car is painted all these areas will get a thorough dose of Bilthamber S50.

That’s all the welding done. It was a bit of a challenge getting the old repair decent enough, the inner wing will need some filler to look okay.

Made a start on the right side inner wing. The old repairs are mostly good so just fixing the rusty bits. Ran out of mig gas so off to get some in the morning.
