  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

looked in the Haynes manual it looks like it was the control valve plug on the HP pump

A bit late looking at this, but i'd be inclined to agree with davebb - look at the sensor on the HP pump. It will sound like an old tractor with this disconnected/failed - never drove mine like that, just forgot to plug it in after having the pump off. Poo'd myself!

really....this could cause such a noise....where exactly is it located please....worth a look before I take it into the garage

I have already said were it is,
It is on the right side of the engine as you are looking in to the engine bay from the front of the car it is on the cylinder head ,you need to pull off the plastic
engine cover,
