Smile V70 T5 electrical ignition fault

First i would like to say hi as i am new to the forum..... i have just bought a v70 t5 in immaculate condition with full volvo service history ,the car drives superb for about 40 minutes and then a clicking sound comes from the ignition key area and the lights flash ....the interior light comes on and it says on the dash , rear near side door open when its not, it will click a few more times then the dash goes out . If i switch the ignition off and back on again all is working again but only for a few minutes then it all happens again. If i leave the car to go cold it drives like new again for around 40 minutes. Could any one help ? Or has any one heard of this problem ? Any advise would be greatly appreciated many thanks Glen .

Sounds like your car is post 2000, therefore in the wrong section of the forum.

However, as mentioned above the fault sounds like the electrical part of the ignition switch is faulty - quite easy to replace, should fix it.

You may get better response if you post here:

It maybe the ignition switch as as been suggested but could be a different problem, DIM possibly.
