All they seem to be interested in, is claiming their expenses and bleeding the city dry, by wasting the funds on lavish 'meetings', that always include expensive bottles of wine etc.

You will just have to get a volunteer to jump out in front of one of the offending vehicles, forcing the police to intervene and perhaps get the council involved again.

How did the blocking of the road, while recording their actions get on, after the Corsa driver in the rain scenario? That was pure class!

Or a better option would be to have a volunteer run the overpaid and maybe useless MP down to prove the point. Something would be done then!

Just emailed our MP back.

I've measured Vicarage Way as being 3.3 wide outside our house, though it's only 2.9 when you take into account the lamp post. A big difference to what the council claims.

I've also included a link to that vid of the Corsa and a brief explanation.

Opinions please?

In the video of the Corsa - - I have measured the time of the car appearing to stopping at my car as 10 seconds. With an estimation of the distance travelled being 50 meters that works out as 5m/s. That converts to an AVERAGE SPEED of 11.2mph. Its reasonable to conclude that a top speed would be in the region of 15mph.

Now that we have an approximate figure for the speed, is that excessive for the road and conditions?

Could you try a request under the 'Freedom of Information' banner to confirm from the Council the one time presence of a bollard? Are there photographs that show a bollard in place? If it is proved that there once was bollard then press and press again for its reinstatement or for minutes of the Council meeting(s) that agreed to not replace it. These are (I believe) Public Records and should be retained / archived permanently.

Thumbs up

One big boulder half way down the road, or a pile of decorative stones, preventing the deviants from 'short cutting'.

After all, the council installed signs to prevent the street being used as a rat run in the first place.
