Default 1999 V70 Tailgate inner trim removal.

Just wondering how the plastic catch cover comes off to allow the whole panel to be removed. I've tried sliding a thin flat blade along each edge but can't see which way it comes off without cracking it.
Rich.

If i remember rightly, you pop a sharp instrument in the gap between the two halves (as it splits in two, inside and outside halves) , towards the top of the tailgate. With a little force this will release the outside half, and then its just a case of wiggling it out.

Yes that's right, was tight but went eventually with no damage.

Broke half of the clips on mine when I did it. Easier to get back on though...
